B. Inggris Praktis : It, They/Them, There Is/Are dan Shall/Will

A.  IT , THEY dan THEM

It digunakan untuk pengganti kata benda tunggal. Tidak digunakan untuk pengganti orang. Untuk bentuk jamak gunakan they atau them.

      Contoh :

1.      It is imposible you can not do it.

2.      It is very good.

3.      It is very early.

4.      It was windy last week.

5.      It will be busy in my house next week.

B.  THERE IS dan THERE ARE

      There = disana

      There is/are = akan / ada.

      Contoh :

1.      There is a cat behind my house.

2.      There was a snake in front of my house.

3.      There will be a party here next week.

4.      There are many books on the table.

5.      There is a tree in front of my school.

      Note :  

      The jika diikuti huruf mati (konsonan) dibaca the (de), contoh The book.

      The jika  diikuti huruf hidup (vocal) dibaca thi (di), contoh : The office.

C.  SHALL dan WILL

      Shall dan Will berarti akan

      American stile

            Shall digunakan untuk hal yang belum pasti.

            Will  digunakan untuk hal yang sudah  pasti.

      British stile

            I, We    biasanya pakai shall, tetapi tidak harus.

            You untuk kelimat Tanya pakai Shall.

      Shall not = shan’t              Will not = won’t
